Y3 Avebury Trip

Year 3 got the chance to explore the incredible monuments of Avebury in the sun on Monday. The class walked the perimeter of one of the largest stone circles in the world and marvelled at the sheer size of some of the stones. They also learnt about the unlucky barber surgeon found beneath one of the stones and tried to figure out how and why his body ended up there.

In the afternoon, the class walked up to West Kennet Long Barrow and had the chance to go inside the very atmospheric burial chambers as well as collect flint on the way down. It was definitely great to be out on trips again after our long hiatus.
