Y4 Dorset Trip

Year 4 enjoyed a fantastic trip to Dorset last weekend.  They started off with a visit to the New Forest Heritage Centre which was followed up by a leaf spotting trail and a chance to see the deer at the Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary. After an evening spent orienteering in the grounds of the Cumulus Outdoor Centre in Swanage the next day dawned bright and sunny. They then took on the challenge of walking from Lulworth Cove to Durdle Door where they had lunch whilst sketching the geographical features. The return journey was helped by the prospect of ice creams at the bottom! Once refreshed the children interviewed members of the public about their reasons for visiting Lulworth which elicited lots of positive comments! After dinner they all had great fun playing crazy golf in a pirate ship setting before getting a well-earned night’s sleep. On the final day they packed up early and set off for Butser Ancient Farm where they learnt about chalk carving and made spiral jewellery in a reconstructed Stone Age hut. By the time they returned to school they were all buzzing with tales to tell their families. Great work Year 4!
