Library Blog - News from the Library: January 16th 2022

Already we are at the end of our second week of the Spring Term 2022 and are happily immersed in ‘Poetry by Heart’!  On the prompting of the English Department, all the students in the school from Year 2 up, will be encouraged to learn at least one poem.  Members of the Poetry Club plan to recite theirs at the Woodley Arts Festival in March 2022 while others are hoping to enter the National ‘Poetry by Heart’ competition. There is a lot of rhyming and rhythm going on around these parts!

Our Year 1&2 ‘Books Ahoy’ Book Club begun this week with a reading of ‘Odd Dog Out’ by Rob Biddulph and then some wonderful drawings of ‘odd dogs’!  We thought we’d share some of our illustrations.   Hope you like them…
