Y1 visit Bluereef Aquarium 2023

On Tuesday 13^th June, Year 1 had a wonderful day at the Blue Reef Aquarium in Portsmouth, and a visit to Hayling Island to celebrate their topic of ‘water’. At the aquarium, the children enjoyed seeing sting rays, clown fish, a snapping turtle, pufferfish, jellyfish, seahorses and much more. We were amazed by all of the different shark species we learnt about in the talk.

In the afternoon the fun continued with a play and paddle on the beach in Hayling Island. We joined our penpals from Mengham Infant School, who we have been writing to in our English lessons in Year 1. It was amazing to meet our penpals in person and share this special afternoon on the beach together.
