Bee Hotel

We were delighted to be asked to attend the opening of the University of Reading’s bee meadow at their London Road Campus on 20^th May as three of our Key Stage 1 children had been winners in their Design a bee Hotel’ competition.  Elements of the children’s designs were incorporated in the Bee Hotel that has been built and placed in the meadow.  Whilst they were at the university the children were able to scan a basket of shopping to see whether or not the items were only available as a result of the work of pollinators such as bees.  They also met the author Sara Louise green who signed a copy of her book ‘Bettie Honey bee’ for them. Congratulations to Jonah in Year 1 and Abigail and Charlotte in Year 2 for their hard work!
