Y5 stepped back in time when they visited the UNESCO Heritage site of the Ironbridge Gorge and the Black Country Living Museum.

The children learned about how iron was forged by the Darby family to make the famous Bridge in 1788, thier eyes were opened to the impact this had on the start of the Industrial Revolution.

It was a busy 3 days of hands-on learning exploring STEM subjects as well as Art and Design including the much loved tile decoration workshop at Jackfield Tile Museum and for the first time Brick making at Blists Hill Victoria Town. Experiences in the coal mine and brick making opened their eyes to how different their lives are today!
