Remembrance Day
BackLower School and Senior School assemblies this week both saw the children taking part in acts of Remembrance.
The Lower School made poppy wreaths and the children explained why we wear poppies for Remembrance Day. They laid their wreaths and poppies around a drum altar. The younger children held their two-minute silence whilst watching a video of the service at the Cenotaph. The Senior School assembly was led by Year 5 who talked about the work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission following their visit to Boulogne during which they went to the cemetery at Wimple. Part of the assembly was the video of the service and the two-minute silence that they had held in the cemetery. Each child had made notes about one of the soldiers there and they remembered these men too.
