Lights, action, sound!

The talented Dolphin children were in demand once again; this time for a Christmas advert.  CH video, an award winning Reading based company approached the Drama department asking if they could borrow some of our children’s voices to make an advert. How exciting.  Not something we had ever been asked to do before.  So, of course we said yes! 

Children ranging from Years 3-6 met in the recording studio, aka, Ophelia’s beautiful wood panelled drawing room one November morning.  Rachel and Gary arrived with all their recording equipment and a basket of toys for us to explore.  This didn’t sound like hard work! Then the concept of the advert was explained to us: they would be using a variety of animated objects, many Christmas related, having conversations with each other and the children would provide the voices. 

We were asked questions about Christmas presents and James declared how he prefers getting socks, even though not many people believe him!  Sonny, on the other hand, really likes receiving toys, he actually loves toys and after thinking about it for a moment added almost as much as he loves his sister. Much to everybody’s amusement Saul shared the fact that his first ever toy was a teddy that he called Custard Bum!  Charlotte hoped that all children could have toys as she knows just how important they are to her, cheering her up when she feels sad.  And just maybe Charlotte’s wish would come true, in Reading at least. 

It turned out that our advert was supporting Reading Family Aid and encouraging anyone watching it to donate a present to their Christmas campaign this year.
