Early Years and Y6 - Library Trip

Children from Year 6, Nursery and Reception were shuttled to our local library in Woodley as part of their ‘Buddy Book’ research trip.

The Librarian read some wonderful books, such as ‘Hairy Maclary’ and ‘Octopus Shocktopus!’ for all to enjoy, and they even got to sing ‘The Wheels on the Bus…’!

Each Year 6 student spent valuable time with their Buddy, helping them to choose and read their favourite books, and learning about what style of books, characters, settings and stories they prefer.

In lessons, the Year 6s are analysing the different features and structures of children’s literature, and their project at the end of the Summer Term will be to produce a personalised book for their Buddy, complete with characters, illustrations and features that children in Nursery and Reception love.
